IBM Buys Kenexa

Is this IBM’s answer to Oracle’s Taleo purchase earlier this year? SAP bought Success Factors earlier this year as well. More and more, we see IBM getting into the applications business just like the other players like Oracle, SAP and Microsoft. It made sense for Oracle to buy Taleo to extend their PeopleSoft applications on the HR side. Similarly for SAP, Success Factors purchase was right on the money. But, I am still trying to figure out why IBM bought #Kenexa. As per the press release, it says for Social Business. Are they trying to extend the IBM Connections offering by adding something that Kenexa offers? May be. We have to wait and see. What next IBM? a CRM product or a ERP product?
